Nothing about Catholics?

G'day Anton. Seems like someone, somewhere, has tweaked a few electrons and managed to get the site up and running again.
I'll indulge your sarcasm, if you like.
Through the Royal Commission, we have been reminded- yet again- that the Roman Catholic Church ignored the cries of raped and tortured children, moved the abusers around to allow them to continue their vile acts, and used funds meant for the poor for hush money and bribery. All under the watchful gaze of the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary.
There you go.

Sounds like a prime recruiting ground for the Labor party.

It kinda' makes you wonder about the priorities of all those saints too. I would have thought rescuing innocent kids from pedophile priests would be right up there with curing cancer, and probably easier to arrange.
Perhaps they were, and these victims simply didn't pray enough to warrant an intervention.

Should we turn the lights off........

Was there ever a more evil organisation in all the world than the Holy Roman Catholic Church? And, while somewhat facetious, I believe the question is profoundly valid. It does not condemn catholicism nor does it intend to offend true believers. But it does beg examination of the hierarchical, authoritarian ideology of the restricted group of men who govern one of the most influential lobby groups in history. I was raised a Catholic; was beaten for a decade by Christian Brothers and lay teachers and yet still married in the church, much to my wife's chagrin. But the venality and downright unchristian attitudes evinced by church leaders as they attempt to defend the indefensible in the current royal commission into sexual abuse is sickening. That so many 'leaders' acted so evilly but when confronted in the commission with victims' evidence pitifully decry their own involvement and say they cannot understand now how they damaged their flock is pathetic. One is tempted to hope that their professed belief in a supreme being is proved correct and that this entity gets to sit in judgment of their behaviour. If so, they will rot in hell for eternity in line with their dogma.
