The greatest foreign act we could do is as a country would be to completely withdraw from this global dictators club.
Via UN Watch
1. The UN Human Rights Council elected Hezbollah supporter Jean Ziegler, founder and recipient of the Muammar Qaddafi Human Rights Prize, as a top advisor.
2. The UN General Assembly adopted 21 condemnatory resolutions against Israel, compared to 4 on the rest of the world combined.
3. The same UN General Assembly elected China, Cuba, Russia, and Saudi Arabia to the UN Human Rights Council. The dictatorships will take their new seats on January 1, 2014.
4. UN Human Rights Council official Richard Falk blamed the Boston Marathon terror bombings on “the American global domination project” and “Tel Aviv.” Shortly thereafter he was praised by the council.
5. The UN Special Committee on Decolonization, charged with upholding fundamental human rights and opposing the subjugation of peoples, elected the murderous Syrian regime to a senior post.
6. The UN Conference on Disarmament in May 2013 made Iran its president.
7. The UN Economic and Social Council, which oversees the UN women’s rights commission, elected genocidal Sudan as its vice-president.
8. The UN Human Rights Council elected slave-holding Mauritania to be its vice-president.
9. The UN chose Zimbabwe, a regime that systematically violates human rights, to host its world tourism summit.
10. UNESCO, which condemned no other country but Israel, and which was silent as Hamas bulldozed a world heritage site to make a terrorist training camp, allowed Syria to sit as a judge on UNESCO’s human rights committee.
Let’s get AUS out of the United Nations and get the UN out of this country.

Most western democracy's would do well to leave the UN and form another organisation. The US could kick the UN assholes out of New York and put the building to good use.

It's not going to happen Jim. For whatever reason the UN seems to have Western governments by the balls and those governments are going along willingly with the lunacy that is the UN and the slow but sure majority vote by Islamics.

It would be interesting to know how many countries could be defined as Islamic.
Posted by: AlterEgo | January 3, 2014 at 06:16 PM
It is just not the Islamic nations, it is also those with very undemocratic governments. They are all anti the west and love sticking it up us. When the UN was established there should have been some conditions set on membership in regards to government leadership established by free and fair elections and proper civil liberties for its citizens. Mind you, the European community set conditions on joining and is now letting some real no-hoper countries join. Why oh why do successful western nations let themselves be used up so badly, oh ya it is all those PC love and peace for everybody pricks we have positions of power.

I get what you say Jim,
These undemocratic governments vote with Islamic nations just to get at nations like ours.
All we seem to be doing is singing "Kumbaya"!

It's a pity it seems we can't get rid of the UN. What is it doing for the poor and needy? Our hearts go out to the poor little children in countries living in poverty. It is all about members filling their pockets with billions, billions sent to the heirarcy of countries where their people live in poverty and to rebel islamists. The aim is for a one world government when it can be beholden to and push for abolishing freedom. Ki-Moon or whatever his name is should get out of the way. He is nothing but a greenie and has no compassion, even though he sprouts it, for those living in poverty. It is sickening to watch him trying to ruin the world and taking billions for his efforts.

It's funny how you say the UN doesn't fight for freedom, yet LGBT persons in this country can't even marry the people that they love.
Hell, intersex persons can't get married at all since they aren't specifically male or female and they're left out becuase of the 'exclusion of all others' clause in the Marriage Act.

This debate has nothing to do with self-centred deviates who want to crap on a time honoured institution to satisfy their own mindless selfishness.
Now have you got something to contribute to the debate about the failures of the United Nations and its billionaires club who want to control the world to satisfy their monumental egos and their own treasonous selfishness?

May I add. Seek out and elect candidates who have balls to promise to withdraw from UN - and hold them up to such promise!
Can people organize to provide such candidates.
As a near parallel in UK there exists the UKIP -Euroskeptics - I understand such is gaining electoral traction.

Gee Robert, if that's the extent of your problems they you've got very little to worry about.
Also, LGBT people have ZERO chance in Islamic countries so why not direct your anger towards them....

Nothing to do with this debate.
Call a referendum on Homosexual marriage and then abide by the result.
You already know what the result will be, Robert, but I bet you won't accept the freedom of the majority who do not want this proposal.
Try pushing for same sex marriage in the countries listed above and see how you get on.

The UN would fold tomorrow, Allan, if the Western Nations did what the rest do.
DO NOT pay the UN any money.
The West are a pack of wimps and should stop funding this rabid organization.
The UN makes the League of Nations look efficient.

The Brit is Back and he's Good.
If you haven't seen this Brit before, you've missed an extraordinarily erudite speaker.
He is serious when he is funny and he is funny when he is serious.
And, boy, is he on point! This is his latest ...
