GOVERNMENT spending rose almost 50 per cent faster than growth in the economy under the Labor government, even after excluding its stimulus spending, a study by the Parliamentary Budget Office has found.

And the surprise here is? We all know that this is what Labor governments do. They increase the costs beyond income by bribing the voters and expanding the government and fund it with debt, and the dumb as a box of rocks Labor voters call this good government! Go figure!!

Just like Whitlam and Keating and numerous State ALP Premiers.
It is not just deja-vu - the ALP is completely incompetent at handling money.
Like the Unions, once they get it, they believe it is their's and they can spend it like a kid in a lolly shop.

Actually, it is going to be much worse this time. Labour have locked in significant spending that hasn't even started yet. So far we have seen Gonski and the unionised childcare workers bribe system were not funded. Neither is the National disability "welfare that we will call insurance" scheme.
Coming soon: the promised international aid, signed long term contracts for the NBN and other infrastructure and the raping of government owned corporations like Medibank that will need to be recovered.
The deficit will still be rising in 3 years time, and wait for the Labor cries of "economic management". Then watch as some Australian actually vote Labor again. Unbelievable, but many Australians actually are that stupid

Unfortunately Anton, if you can believe the polls, (I don't) there is now 52% of the country with no brains at all that will either vote for them or the other morons they went into bed with.

Just can't understand the mentality of some voters. Well, it is possibly those who get handouts and are led to believe they will get handouts which they won't. The money has gone.
Labor is a bunch of crooks who, the majority, have never had a job in their lives. The majority are complete union hacks. The Unions could be a useful tool in helping employees being bullied in the workplace, but they have had no experience whatsoever in economics, or any other worthwhile job.
In fact they are the cause of the Holden demise pushing up wages and conditions, when the goods are not being sold. Wake up Australians for goodness sake to the wiles, "cons" and incapability of union hierarchy, not to mention the fact that they are in there, primarily for the money they can get out of it. And that can be seen in the HSU and AWU.

You are quite right Anton, Labor laid more landmines in Australia's financial future than the Japs did in WWII. Abbott and Co. are going to try and run a tight ship, but will find holes being blown in the hull from what this sick Labor scum has done. It will take many years of fiscal responsibility to fix this, and I am afraid the Aussie electorate will not be willing to accept this and will, if not the next election the one after, return to the Labor spendthrifts that keep feathering their nests. We got to face it folks, just like the USA, Australia may never be debt free again. It is so sad to think that just a few years ago we had a very competent government and the nation was debt free, and Labor has stuffed things up so badly during their short time that even a competent fiscally responsible government cannot fix the problem for at least a decade and most likely more than that.

The correct approach would be to go in hard. Labor can still take the blame for their F$%^ups. Clean out all the mess, demolish the trade unions and get rid of what the British refer to as QANGOS. Cut funding to the Arts and non productive university courses.
But the Libs won't. They will settle for a few cosmetic changes and roll over, hoping all those leftwing voters will start voting for them.
