More stupid Muslim appeasement from the progressive left.
Via the Daily Mail
Parents were ordered to send their children to a workshop on Islam or have them labelled as racist for the rest of their school career.
They were sent a letter warning that the primary school pupils would have a ‘racial discrimination note’ put on their records if they did not go.
Families were told to pay £5 per child for the Explore Islam trip next Wednesday to Staffordshire University, which would involve Year 4 and Year 6 children being shown Islamic artefacts.
Here's the letter from the school. Note the letter doesn't dare state the workshop will cover Islam.
In the end, the dumbass school backed the foxtrot down.
I’ll say it again, Islam runs counter to every single progressive left ideology, but because the right doesn’t like Islam, progressives continue to make excuses for it. The facts are, should Islam ever become the majority, it will be the progressives that will be targeted first by the Islamists.

They used to have a go a John Howard as a "1950s" man, but in many ways we are less free and more controlled than we were in most of the 20th century. Petty bureaucrats rule us and craven politicians shaft us.
Many seem to have emigrated from the Soviet Union.

I guess this is the (now daily) anti-Islamic rant
why is this so.?.and how does this line up with e Liberal Party ideology which it seems is the rationale for much on M House,,,is anti-islamic stuff now a major political issue for his site...there are other matters of note surely
in our political scene...like the diplomatic problems engulfing the Abbott so early in his career as PM...that surely is quite remarkable matter worthy of comment

The last census showed that moslems make up about 3% of the population of Oz....and will never be anywhere near a majority here so the scare about what they will do if in a majority is just so much nonsense
"Progressive" who ever they are, have more to fear from fundamantalist christians ...who as we see in parts of the USA are a threat to rational society...opposing evolutionary science and a host of other matters

The Liberal Party of Australia has nothing to do with this website.
If you don't like the posts, then don't come here. Use your freedom of choice (while you have choice) and go over and visit those bed wetters over at GetUp! There you can make excuses for the Islamist's
Posted by: Andy's Rant! | November 24, 2013 at 12:11 AM
Don't play dumb, you know exactly what the term "progressive" means, but in case you are as dumb as your comments, a progressive is a person who is in favour of the heavy hand of gov't, wealth redistribution, and "social" justice...or in other words, a socialist.
If you think Islam isn't a threat to our way of life then you probably think a crocodile would make a great house pet...

Tell me...is "bed wetters" a new term of abuse to replace" latte sipping leftists"
just wondering ?

Those defending the Indonesians should see the disgraceful cartoon in a Jakarta journal today depicting Tony Abbott as a peeping tom and a wanker

Just imagine the confected outrage had an Aussie newspaper depicted SBY in a similar cartoon...they'd all go monkey...

Andy, why reply to that fool at 5 & 6? He is the bloke that uses a long line of Toms and Teds and is nothing but a smartarse troll.

I was recently reading the comments of a Saudi Arabian who said that Islam was a religion of peace and they wanted nothing more than live in peace and harmony with all and sundry. So I looked up Saudi Arabia's idea of peace and harmony. Interesting, to say the least.

re cartoon - perhaps Tony is watching Liberal Party strategist Mark Textor's Pilipino [sic] porn star in action.
hmmm. wondering whether to post this......what the hell.

Saudi Arabia is indeed a brutal medieval theocracy, Allan. You wonder why our friends and allies provide them with the latest high tech weapons.

Just another push by so called educated politically correct brigade Neanderthals who think that by cowering down to Islam we will all be spared its wrath come the Islamic revolution. What a load of bollocks! There is no place in today's society for an ideology that promotes violence for non compliance.

It's all about the oil Arthur. Always has been & always will be. Otherwise who in their right mind would want to become closely involved with a culture so alien to the ideals (admittedly now looking decidedly moth eaten)of western style democracy. Thankfully the USA, Canada (& Australia if we are sensible) are now able to take advantage of new technology to vastly reduce our dependence on Middle Eastern oil. The sooner we move to a mixture of nuclear & renewable (yes Andy, that dreaded solar/wind/tidal stuff)the better.
In my more unstable angry moments I advocate the building of a giant electric fence around the whole of the middle east & letting them just get on with their life while we get on with ours. stupid dream but an attractive one at times.
Posted by: John of North Lakes | November 24, 2013 at 01:17 PM
You seem unaware that the largest islamic societies are not in the M East after all.... but in our region of the world..Indonesia being the largest of all and Pakistan nearly as great in population...not to mention 100 million moslems in India and smaller states nearby like Malaysia and Brunei...some very wealthy states too..so that fence around he M East wouldn't have much purpose...and who',se to build it.. John of North Lakes?
after all ,the major supplier of arms to countries in the M East like Saudi ,The Gulf States and Egypt...is the USA...with France now seeking a really big deal with Saudi to build nucleur power plants there..that why Pres Hollande has been doing the rounds selling material in the region
with all the money floating around in the Mid East there is little wish to curtail trade...so that "fence"of yours ...will remain a rather nonsense fantasy of no avail anyway
Posted by: Mark Isaacs | November 24, 2013 at 02:18 PM
John, nuclear power is feasible. However, solar, wind and tidal or wave motion so-called renewables may satisfy the stupidity of the Green Dream but they are impractical, susceptible to weather conditions, unreliable and grossly unaffordable so they will probably have to remain another of your nonsense dreams.

Oh, I forgot to mention that they are obscenely environmentally unfriendly both during manufacture and disposal at the end of their useful life.
Posted by: Allan | November 24, 2013 at 02:46 PM
Allan, I have an idea for an environmentally friendly power source that doesn't emit that evil Co2, and once commissioned will not require any further input whatsoever, and only minimal maintenance -

yep, a few thousand of these hooked up to our base load generators ; problem solved.

They do however provide a sustainable pet food industry:

We went over to solar poweron our rooftop and also had a small wind turbine installed on our small rural property
We can feed acess power into the powergrid
The wind tower gives us a great deal of power as it's in a windy place on a cliff top by the ocean...and our power is constant
why do some people delay''' our power bills have vanished in the main ...a great step forward
Posted by: Liza HcHugh | November 24, 2013 at 07:40 PM
Hey Mark, alright, put a fence around Indonesia, Pakistan, Afganistan etc! It was just a "tongue in cheek" comment mate, meant to illustrate my frustration at the situation with the threat of radical Islam. Surely you could see that.
Posted by: John of North Lakes | November 24, 2013 at 07:46 PM
Liza do you have any idea that your access power fed back into the grid actually creates problems for the power generators and if enough people were talked into this wonderful money saver then the need for upgraded baseload generators and distributors that will drive up power costs for everyone? Result?
Everybody loses?
I think that you should do a bit of reading up on this problem and you may just come to the conclusion that you are part of the problem and not part of the answer.

Nah. Let the dog read that link but he wasn't that impressed.

They are saving the planet you know

Correcton: excess power.
Posted by: Allan | November 24, 2013 at 09:27 PM
Allen...We have no problems wih our renewable power sources
you are wrong in your statements
Posted by: Liza McHugh | November 24, 2013 at 09:52 PM
Darn those unintended consequences
Posted by: Anton | November 24, 2013 at 10:15 PM
Do you know how much your setup cost - combined self and taxpayer subsidy?
What would the ROI be on that amount?
Posted by: Anton | November 24, 2013 at 10:17 PM
Well that is if the figures are accurate - the 10% quoted in the UK is a joke. Plus the Islamic families are encouraged to have a larger family so the population "weapon" will work slowly and surely. Fearing "fundamental" Christians - are you serious - do you think a few Creationists are as scary as a philosophy whose followers rams planes into the sides of buildings - if so you really are a worry. Even with the "3%" schools are bringing in halal meat and they have also tried to ban Easter symbols. If you want a look at the real world try reading a few issues of the Barnabas foundation
Posted by: Dee | November 25, 2013 at 12:02 AM
I think the teachers responsible for this disgusting note should be sacked from the education system. No ifs, no buts, just sacked for being dangerous to those they are supposed to be educating.
The Islamic religious artefacts that were to be shown off - did they include bits from the twin towers, the club in Bali, or the buses and trains destroyed in London? Because that's islam, not the crap about the 'religion of peace'.
Islam is attacking every facet of civilised life in the west. We should be teaching our kids about the threat it represents to their freedom and wellbeing.
Posted by: Terry | November 25, 2013 at 09:18 AM
Do you actually understand what I said?
Posted by: Allan | November 25, 2013 at 09:30 AM
No Allan, Liza does not understand and it is for one of the following reasons: 1. She is scientifically illiterate, 2. She is immersed in the Greenie bullshit "fairy's at the bottom of the garden" lifestyle, 3. She loves the fact that her electricity bills are so much cheaper, and 4. She does not care if others have to pay more for power as long as hers is cheap.
Like most others, she does not understand that a base-load power supply still has to be connected to her home and that this system cannot just be turned on and off but must be kept running at all times. She also does not understand that the system can only be ramped down so much and if too many other systems are pumping power into the grid that the system grid can get overloaded, that is why certain areas where many people have got solar are not allowing any more people in that area to get it. She also does not understand that the power used and CO2 produced to produce her power saving devices will exceed the power she will actually save. But Alan, she most likely just does not care as long as her power is cheap and she can pass it off as saving the planet.
Posted by: Jim Witt | November 25, 2013 at 11:19 AM
Jim, 100% correct for all of those reasons.
