Just where was is revealed that Australian Embassies across Asia were being used to spy for the US? In the Fairfax Press? Yeah, right.
Foreign Embassies and Commissions in Canberra whinging about Australia spying is a laugh. The hypocrisy, especially in the case of China, is monumental and I doubt that the Australian government would place to much trust in them or the Indonesians in terms of intelligence gathering or anything else for that matter.

It is not the spying that will damage regional trust, all nations do it, and their leaders are aware of that. The problem arises when the base level population of a nation finds out it is being spied upon and requires it's government to take action to stop the spies. Release of this information by the Fairfax Press whether false, a stretch of the truth or fact is not in Australia's best interests and borders on treason.

Another scurrilous remark from AD with nothing to do with the subject.
The Murdoch press is only repeating the Fairfax crap to show that Fairfax is biased.
Australia did not start spying 56 days ago Arthur.
