"Poverty forced them seek a better life." They paid smugglers $80,000.
According to Centrelink Child Care Estimator, that family would be entitled about $4,680 per month. That does not include rent assistance and too many other benefits to research and list here.
You, the taxpayer foots the bill for economic refugees and the SBS who presented this beat-up. GC.
Last week a boat carrying economic refugees flipped just 50 metres off an Indonesian beach after setting off for Australia.

Just watch this and see how this sick mad mullah blames Australia for this tragedy. Well on a positive note, maybe it will discourage others from trying to come here, but I doubt it. Australia's Lebo community is quite large and I am sure plenty of information about how good it is here for a family on the government social welfare gravy train will see then keep trying. They were able to scrounge up a measly US$80,000 to pay a people smuggler, but had to make the baby crib due to poverty! Pull the other one!!

This broadcast from SBS is a bloody disgrace. The producer, the journalist and the SBS management should be hauled before s parliamentary committee to explain why they are broadcasting lies and inciting hatred in Australia and why they shouldn't be sacked.
I am sure that most Australians are past the point of compassion for economic refugees who cry poor while paying $80,000 to people smugglers and then want to blame Australia when everything goes wrong within sight of the Indonesian shores.
Why don't they lay the blame where it belongs. It belongs right at the feet of the Indonesians who wouldn't give them assistance because they claimed the sea was too rough? Could it be that it is because Indonesia is an Islamic stronghold.
We don't need these ignorant frauds, welfare leaches and trouble-makers bringing their destructive medieval culture to this country egged on by their crazy Mullahs and Sheiks spitting venom and hate.

There used to be a law called Sedition, Allan.
Take a guess who got rid of this law.

Hello Peter. Thanks, I wasn't aware of that.
Looking it up it seems that Australian Law Reform Commission in a 2006 submission to the then Howard government entitled "Fighting Words: A Review of Sedition Laws in Australia Tabled 13 September 2006" recommended that:
"The Australian Government should remove the term ‘sedition’ from
federal criminal law. To this end, the headings of Part 5.1 and Division 80 of the Criminal Code (Cth) should be changed to ‘Treason and urging political or inter-group force or violence’, and the heading of section 80.2 should be changed to ‘Urging political or inter-group force or violence’."
Do you think that "urging political or inter-group force or violence" adequately replaces the older terminology and could it not be used to cover the same crimes that were previously covered by the word "sedition".
