The womaniser BOB HAWKE who was drugged up most of the time when he was PM, should just go back to his dealings with the ARABS and shup up! He is scared he will lose his connections&kickbacks in the labor party if they are kicked out of government!

I've never understood why there's a call for Murdoch's papers to be balanced (or Fairfax for that matter). It's fair enough to expect a public broadcaster to be balanced, since we all have to pay for it, but why should Murdoch have any such restrictions placed on him?
One man's bias is another man's niche market. If I don't like what I read in Murdoch's papers, I'll get my news elsewhere. It's a bit like demanding MenziesHouse publishes as many pro-government articles as anti-government articles... or that Holden make as many blue cars as yellow cars. We've all got choices here.

dB - abso-bloody-lutely right! News Ltd, Fairfax et al are private entities which, when I last looked, can express their opinion freely and widely. As far as the ABC is concerned, it should be even-handed and present the news objectively. We have the opinionists and editorials of the private press, we should have facts and objectivity reported by state funded organs.
