Ruffle some precious feathers for liberty's sake
by Michael Galak
It started slow and easy. I remember, for example, when “black” and “negro” were just words, no more and no less, that designated skin colour and had no other meanings. These words cannot now be uttered. "Afro-American" and, in the Australian context, "Indigenous Australian", are the terms everyone must use if not to be accused of racism, xenophobia and the like.

Is there an irony here?
People are offended because they feel like they are not allowed to be offensive.
I don't recall anyone condemning blasphemy as an impediment to free speech.
(some useless information for Allan-The last person hanged for blasphemy in Great Britain was Thomas Aikenhead aged 20, in Scotland in 1697.)

Slartybartfast is back attacking religion.
No one has condemned you for your constant offensiveness to other peoples beliefs. The only religion that kills people for blasphemy is Islam. Once again Arty is too gutless to have a go at the only religion that kills people for blasphemy, and AD's favourite, homosexuality.
This individual brings his hatred of religion into every topic with the same monotonous monotone.
Try sticking to the subject for a change and stop using side matters to defend your Leftist garbage that created Political Correctness in the first place.

Fair go Peter. I did "have a go" at Islam a week or so ago, but you were offended at my line of attack on the religion of peace. Seems the metaphysics of Islam is out of bounds (ie. politically incorrect)
Hasn't some form of 'political correctness' always been with us?
Even to the point of being mandated by iron age deities.
I thought my comment was "on topic", observing an irony.

The topic is about the loss of freedom associated with Political Correctness not irony.
You DID NOT have a go at Islam, you made an aside comment, lacking the vitriol and hatred you dish out to Christianity.
Fraudulent excuses do not excuse your blatant offensive remarks under the guise of "irony" or attempted humour.
The leftist interpretation of Voltaire's classic statement has been twisted through PC to read :-
"I disagree with what you say and will fight(not to the death) to prevent you from saying it".

Are you refering to this-
" What's more likely - that a bloke in a cave was visited by an angel sent by the creator of the universe, or that the bloke was an epileptic, prone to vivid delusions?"
Really? Showing disrespect to The Prophet is about as bad as it can get, or so I thought.
Surely, in your day to day interactions with people you must hear plenty of "politically incorrect" comments. No? You need to get out more.
