Menzies House is the leading online Australian community for conservative, centre-right and libertarian thinkers.
Surely this is the most despicable type of government propaganda message...

Either a subtle joke, or the proof reader should be sacked. That said, the poster tells it like it is!
Did anyone see the Liberal Party website -

Cereal Offender - eh?

I'm in oar....no.
I'm in ore.....no.
I'm in awe over your power of observation AlterEgo.

Shall we be generous and blame the work experience kid?

Slartybartfast and Ego cannot spell either.
So much for the superior intellect of the Left.

'Veritas".
Posted by: Allan | July 27, 2013 at 09:14 PM
Oh, you mean this Veritas?
[Edited by request. GC.]
His post was so degenerate that GC had to edit out his obscenities.
Was it you that requested the edit?

Sorry Peter, you lost me.
... Ego cannot spell either
What was the word that I got wrong?
... the superior intellect of the Left
Your words not mine.
Why do you assume that I am of the Left, when I'm really in the middle?

You never get it right do you? You only read enough of a comment to provide you with what you mistakenly believe is ammunition. Then your dysfunctional ability to comprehend dictates that you turn it around and exaggerate to accommodate your frenzied haste ridicule someone and let fire with a load of half-baked drivel.
Had you bothered to read Geoff's comments re Veritas you may have just once gotten it half right: "Is not an "old chap" and has sent a message apologising for her "out of character" colourful language." I believe that "she" asked Geoff to amend her comments.
She, repeat she, at least had the common decency to apologise even though your nit-picking mealy-mouthed comments led her to it in the first place.
That is is more than I can say for you. I am still waiting for an apology from a couple of months back when you lied about comments I was supposed to have made regarding you. Instead of apologising you thought it was a laugh and that alone is enough to make Veritas 100 percent right about you.

Why do the Conservatives on this site always seem so angry ?
Posted by: Arthur Dent | July 28, 2013 at 12:33 PM
Alas, I don't think it's unique to this site. I suspect it's indicative of a more widespread issue. I suspect it's some sort of "born to rule" mentality.
They sometimes remind me of the spoilt kid at the backyard cricket match. He kicks up such a stink at being called Out, that it's sometimes easier to just let him stay in, so we can all get on with enjoying the BBQ.

So it was Veritas herself who requested the editing.
Where can I read Geoff's comments about Veritas?
If I had known that Veritas was a lady, I would have realised and scrolled on by.
I am also surprised at the amount of vitriol that my harmless little posts evoke.
If you are upset that I mixed you up with Peter Simmons, and want an apology -
I apologise for mixing you up with Peter Simmons.
Not really surprising as both of you are ex-servicemen (think I'm right) and express very similar views.
Posted by: AlterEgo | July 28, 2013 at 03:59 PM
Speaking of ex-servicemen, did you see Neil James Vs Jim Molan the other night? Jump to 2:35 in this clip:
http://www.abc.net.au/lateline/content/2013/s3811311.htm
it's classic.
Neil is not a huge fan of "Operation Sovereign Borders", and when he challenged its designer, Jim Molan admits:
"It's designed to achieve a political effect."
Ooops. Apparently last time Jim Molan advised the coalition, he told them they needed to get tanks into Afghanistan. They quickly dropped that policy.

You are unbelievable. You are incapable of seeing that you are wrong and equally incapable of having the backbone to admit it.
You read Geoff's comments, but you choose the pretense of surprised ignorance of their existence. "Where can I read Geoff's comments about Veritas?" What a pretender!!!
I wouldn't accept that sorry excuse that you call an apology nor your poor excuse for what you call a mix up. It is amazing that you had all the details down pat, but now claim that your couldn't remember who posted those details. When caught out you treated it as a joke.
You are always so surprised at the reactions to your brain-dead comments and the fact that they are more often than not incorrect.
As I intimated earlier, man up and admit when you are wrong instead of having some smart-alec response and those commenting here may just have a little more respect for you.

Well dB, you are really down at the bottom of the barrel now, aren't you?
Two high ranking ex-servicemen arguing about operations. Nothing new there.
What else do you have?
Posted by: Allan | July 28, 2013 at 07:00 PM
Bottom of the barrel?
I thought dB was pointing out that it seems the LNP's response to Rudds PNG plan was purely political. Efficacy doesn't come into it.

That seems to be the view of the guy who designed it for them, and I assume he knows what was in his brief.
