Confusion over Slipper's split from Palmer's party
Confusion surrounds the departure of federal independent MP Peter Slipper from Queensland billionaire Clive Palmer's new political party.
The former Liberal MP applied to join the United Australia Party (UAP), which issued a statement yesterday indicating his application had been accepted.
But just hours later, the party issued another statement reversing that decision.

His Slipperiness, Peter Slipper, would be dynamite for any conservative party where conservative majority thinking has been betrayed. Well rid of in such electorates as will also be Messrs Windsor and Oakeshott in 125 days.
