Our good friends at the Conservative Action Network were kind enough to film the Australian Taxpayers' Alliance event in Sydney with Michael Smith on the allegations surrounding Bruce Wilson, Julia Gillard, and the AWU - and the governments' attempts to supress this story.
Here's the main presentation: More videos from the night, including the introduction from myself and CANdo's Jai Martinovitz, concluding thoughts from CATA's Jacques' Laxale, and the Q&A after the jump:
What is wrong with the system in this country that it shuts its eye and ears to the documentation held by Mike
Smith.
The thing that disturbes me is that a lying, conniving and totally dishonest woman can get away with it.

Sadly, it seems to be a global trend. From the US Democrats, the EU, through to the ALP, lying, obfuscation, misrepresentation, disinformation, etc. has become the norm; the standar operating procedure of quasi-communists.
Having successfully invaded the MSM, whom gleefully cheer the Statists on, the struggle for justice and liberty remains constant and relentless.
We are in for the long haul, like they say.
Can you imagine what the true extent of Union corruption is in Australia? What a terrifying thought.

I have a deep lothing and sitrust of Gillard. Her exploits before she deposed Rudd - being glamorised for air-brushed photo shoots, playing up her charm, relentlessly building her media image and thus popularity - suggested to me she had a considerable agenda on the go behind the scences.
The events that unfolded around Rudd and Gillard in 2010 seemed pretty clear confirmation of my thoughts.
Having read much about the AWU scandal, I have been inclined to believe th PM guilty of less than honest behaviour, to be fair, based mostly on personal dislike and distruct.
However, suspicion has been bolstered by the PM's carbon tax fraud on voters, her deplorable behaviour in questions time, her tin ear when it comes to advice on the nation's future, her support for vilification, denigration and smeer as political weapons against an opposition that does its job well.
Michael Smith's compelling research and knowledge of the AWU affair, the treatment of Glen Milne and Smith, the Australian being forced into a cringing apology over something the PM wanted kept hidden confirms my belief that, not only is the PM ruthless, she is also more than likely guilty of dishonesty.
If the Opposition wins government next year, one thing they should do early on is appoint a Royal Commission to enquire into the union movement in order to winkle out dishonesty, misappropriation of dues for personal use and a host of other issues.

I do believe you are correct and as ibbit says, we need a Royal Commission to dig out corruption at all levels. If the opposition could pull that off then you would see a whole lot of ducking for cover going on and maybe some jail time for some who are begging for it.
