Former Age columnist Catherine Denvy shows once again the maturity, nuance and sophistication of the intellectual left:
Charming.
h/t Weekend Libertarian
Menzies House is the leading online Australian community for conservative, centre-right and libertarian thinkers.
worse, Deveny is about as funny as cancer.
No wonder the Age sacked her.
You can sum her up in one word - GRUB

What journalistic brilliance from a "has been" of the last century.

Childish ignorant stupidity

Nothing worse than a crass woman going public with a statement like that.

I have no desire to be disrespectful to Rev Nile or Wallance but I did have a good laugh at Deveny's statement.
I do tire of all the regular PC niceties that a lot of blogs insist on.
I am rather surprised to read such profanity on Menzies House though but it is refreshing to put aside the regular PC bullshit for once.

Are we all getting a bit precious?
This from another current thread -
" is it simply a case of the members of the APC licking Julia Gillards backside (and there is a lot of it to lick)"
We'll see how long before the Menzies House Moderators remove it........

And you wonder why our kids are turning feral and using vile words - such a nice role model isn't she? I wonder if the potty mouthed wench got her account suspended.

Deveny is a revolting human being.
For the record, she's the one who tweeted that Bindi Irwin should "get laid".

Why are you telling me this? I'm not the editor
Posted by: Andy Semple | June 20, 2012 at 06:57 PM
You flogs all complain about PC and then this happens and you react like morons.
Posted by: Tim | June 20, 2012 at 09:55 PM
now now tim
what is a flog?
is that this childish comment has a reference to sodomy that makes it ok?

While it is not the way I would choose to write or speak it is interesting how bad language becomes used as a political point scorer as though only one side of politics is capable of 'grubbiness'.
Only recently "ditch the witch" was the catch-cry of many on the Right. Hardly gentlemanly behaviour, but in fairness these chants do not in themselves portray anything about right-thinking individuals. Because that is what they are individuals, and one individual's behaviour does not a collective make.
Eg. "Deveny shows once again the maturity, nuance and sophistication of the intellectual left."
How is this sort of behaviour or language relevant to Left ideology? There is no rational aspect to this sort of statement, just petty point scoring and blinkers to own side of politics shortfalls. Isn't there enough kindergarten style politics in parliament. Perhaps we really do get the politicians we deserve.
Rational arguments welcome.

This must be Catherine Deveny's way of promoting gay marriage. Another useful idiot.
Posted by: RossCO | June 21, 2012 at 01:16 AM
Gutter humour can be funny if clever. Deveny is neither. She is evidence of a bloated, leftist, ego scrambling for relevance among the growing ruins of socialist ideology. Poor, Poor woman, what goes around comes around.

And another ROFLMAO comment from the left:
http://www.news.com.au/breaking-news/miles-franklin-literary-award-winner-anna-funder-savages-qld-premier/story-e6frfku0-1226403771558
THE winner of Australia's most prestigious literary prize has savaged the Queensland Premier for axing a taxpayer-funded literary award
followed up with
"I don't really think they are the Premier's to scrap. It's the people's money and the people want to have this recognition of the writers who reflect their world back to them," she said on ABC radio
and to finish
And the first thing that someone with dictatorial inclinations does is to silence the writers and the journalists
FFS, they win 7 out of 89 seats in QLD because of wasteful spending and restricting free speech, but it is still "the people's money"

Ah - the offencerati using Catherine's content as a source for their own content? What would you do without her?
Posted by: Artsystems | June 21, 2012 at 05:15 PM
That's what the ABC thought. But everyone was happier without her.
Posted by: John Mc | June 21, 2012 at 05:34 PM
Much like you using this post's content for your own ... What would you do without it?
Your argument is Intellectual dwarfism at best.
