Bob Brown’s global ‘people’s assembly‘ continues to intrigue me. There’s soon to be 7 billion people in the world.
Brown says it should be ‘one person, one vote, one value’. So if 10 million people each got a representative in a 700 member world parliament the votes would look like this:
On Monday night on the ABC TV’s The Drum I asked the new Greens senator for Victoria whether Brown was serious – apparently so.

Maybe we'll be better represented in the senate.

You're assuming everyone in China will vote for same party? How about in India?
Will the Coca Cola Party poll well in Africa? How about McDonalds Party?
Nigeria will probably be contested fiercely by scammers of all sorts :P
You know ... I think I prefer the UN. One Nation - One Vote.

What could possibly go wrong with that?

Talk about representative Democracy hahahaha. One seat representing 10,000,000 people is just what we need. We shouldn't blame Bobby Brown though. Socialist Leaders never ever adopted the concept that in a democracy the people's representative must be in touch with the people that are being ruled.
