Be under no illusion about who is really running this Government.
The Elite first fought in the name of Religion, then Communism, then Terrorism and now in the name of Climate Change. Their excuses for global domination always change but their aim remains the same - Domination.

I get the feeling he wouldn't be so fond of a world government if we were in charge

I get the feeling that western nations wouldn't like a world government because they'd be outnumbered by African and Asian nations.

and they believe in sovereignty and devolution of power.

As long as government structure has the right balance of local and overall ... of course being humans we probably couldn't achieve such a utopia. Greed, pride, ego etc would mess it up somewhere.

Chris Uhlmann, in breaking news on ABC LATELINE, said that the Climate Tax is on the verge of being announced. He said it will be announced within the next week and a half, before Parliament goes into winter recess.
The only possible sticking point now is Tony Windsor.
Remember, at Bonn, June 6, 2011 it was decided to try and get the Climate Treaty through via the G20.

Oh boy, the next few years are going to be fun. If, that is, your idea of fun is making Australia an international laughing stock while shoving its economy into the insinkerator. This is why I'm not hoping for another election anytime soon -- the public needs a chance to see how nutty the Greens can be with a little power first.

"If we human beings are going to live each other in peace"
Ah Bob you slay me. When have human beings EVER lived in peace? Your solution is for more government, but in many countries they are the major cause of the problem!

You confuse an elected government with domination, it seems.

Grow up is the only comment I can think of here. I have never voted green, but think this is all pretty immature guys.
Anyway, happy days are here, as the Coalition are turfed out of the Senate. Hip Hip Hooray!!

More solid reasoning from one of our finest political thinkers.
There are many issues that transcent national boundaries - environment, law enforcement, finance ...
In what way is it crazy to consider a democratic process to manage such areas?
Is the law of the jungle the best way to manage international conflict?
Really, I want to know in what way do you think that some level of international governance is crazy or dangerous?

Yeah let’s have a world Government and give everyone a vote. Now let’s all be told by a Billion Chinese and Indians on how we should live.
Screw that.
More solid reasoning from one of our finest political thinkers.
Brown suffers from deluded grandeur

You seem to have simplified and polarised the issue, and created a strawman. Is anyone proposing that the powers would be as widespread as your comment suggests? What if a billion chinese have a legitimate issue with (say) how you might be disrupting their water supply ... then wouldn't it be proper for them to have some real say in the issue?
Or does their voice not matter?
How would you resolve difficult international issues?

What do Australia and McDonalds have in common?
They are both run by a clown with red hair

Tim Blair had this gem...
The development comes in the same week the UN defended its decision to support Iran’s holding of an international “anti-terrorism” conference — which saw participants declaring that Western powers were the international terrorists.
The UN is not on our side. Kind of obvious

How about "King Brown"?
Also known as Pseudechis Australis, not a brown snake but of the black snake genus. The second longest venomous snake in Australia.
Do not approach, as this reptile is dangerous, and has a tendency to be attracted to the colour red.
Apologies to Tasmania and the rest of Australia, but Oberon, NSW is where this dangerous reptile was hatched, then allowed to migrate to the forests of Tasmania in 1972.
Luckily it appears incapable to reproduce.
